Under Sierra Skies:
A Photography Project Through the Eastern Sierra and Mojave Desert
What is Under Sierra Skies?
Under Sierra Skies, is my first photography project based off of my personal work. If you have been following along for any amount of time, it is easy to tell that one of the main things I enjoy to photograph are landscapes, and specifically landscapes of the American West.
In the winter of 2023, I found myself leaving my full time job to chase becoming a professional photographer, around this same time, almost on exactly the same day I handed in my resingnaton we were leaving to go on a quick four day trip to the desert to escape the Pennsylvania winter, for no other reason than we found really cheap flights. At that time all I knew was when I got home it was all in on photography and that for the next four days we were going to be exploring the deserts of California and Nevada. Little did I know that this would almost instantly become my favorite parts of the country and even prompting a second trip back almost a year to the day to capture more and improve upon what I already had.
Almost a year and a half after the initial trip, and successfully making it almost two years as a full time photographer, it felt right to put together a project larger than just a quick post on the internet, and the only place that made sense to me for that project was where I really started my career as a professional photographer, The Eastern Sierra and the Mojave Desert
